Biography
Having started as a street photographer in his seasonally ever-changing home city of Helsinki, Matti has already mastered the use of natural light and quick compositioning skills at a young age. Now it has been well over a decade that he has been calling himself a photographer after what once was just a brief moment of inspiration when learning about the legendary French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson in his high school art class.
During 2014 he started cooperating with the local modeling agencies such as Fondi, Paparazzi and Brand to get familiar working with models. Since then Matti has been revising his eye with models from agencies such as AREA, Ford and IMG around the world while becoming more and more fluent in his signature style of simplicity, authenticity and natural lighting.
There is always something to be said about being unique as an artist, but a photographer can only really show you the vision through his pictures, which is an ever-lasting process with a steep learning curve. The thing about photography in Matti’s view is all about having to pay attention to details, without letting that over-shadow the realness and emotion of a photograph.
